Gavin’s poetry has been published in many reputed literary journals.

A fat woman’s dignity and Deccan have been previously published in the Poetry Circle’s journal Poiesis (Winter 1993 / Summer 1994).

What Are Years was published in Vol. 50, Nos. 1-3, of the Indian P.E.N. magazine (January-March 1989) edited by Nissim Ezekiel, and Smoke In Your Hair in Vol. 2, No. 1, of the Bombay Poetry Circle’s quarterly newsletter, I to I (January/March 1990).

Deccan and One Way Out were published in Folio, the literary monthly of The Hindu (January 2001).

Julietta, good night; A fat woman’s dignity; Deccan; One Way Out and A Dream in a Train, of a Library were all published in Reasons For Belonging: Fourteen Contemporary Indian Poets, edited by Ranjit Hoskoté (Viking Penguin, 2002).
